Cancer support meetings begin at New Ulm Medical Center

NEW ULM, Minn. 03/17/2009--– A gift from a patient’s family is making a cancer support group possible at New Ulm Medical Center. The New Ulm Medical Center Foundation is funding the support group with proceeds from the Bill Johnson Memorial Golf Tournament.

The cancer support group will meet Tuesday, April 7 from 7 to 8:30 p.m. in the medical center’s first floor board room and continue to meet on the first Tuesday of each month.

Dr. Janice Beauduy, a physician and licensed psychologist is the meeting facilitator. People who have questions about the group can call her at 507-233-1848.

Johnson died in the spring of 2008. The golf tournament in his memory raised $4,000 for the medical center’s Oncology department on September 20 at the Sleepy Eye Golf Course.
