Allina's Mercy Hospital urges area medical students to apply for scholarship

COON RAPIDS, Minn. 09/04/2009--The deadline is approaching for applications to the Bevan W. Bunker, M.D., Medical Scholarship Fund. The scholarship is awarded by Mercy Hospital Medical Staff in honor of the late Bevan W. Bunker, M.D., a charter member of the medical staff at Mercy Hospital.

The fund supports students pursuing medical degrees to become physicians. This year, a scholarship for $2,000 will be awarded.

Applicants must meet the following requirements:
• Demonstrated financial need
• Accepted to or enrolled in an accredited school of medicine
• A current resident of the area

Information on the scholarship and applications can be obtained from www.allinamercy.org. The completed application must be received by September 18.
