Rivers Cancer Center Offers Cancer Education and Support Meetings

RIVER FALLS, Wisc. 08/30/2010--The Rivers Cancer Center will host support and educational gatherings for adults facing cancer, and their friends and family who want to learn more and connect with others on this unexpected journey.

These free meetings will be held from 6:30 – 8:00 p.m. every other Wednesday on September 15th, 29th, October 13th, 27th and November 10th at the River Falls Area Hospital. Each session has a unique focus and participants may come to one session or attend all in the series.

Meeting topics will include cancer basics, treatment and prevention, symptom management, nutrition, exercise and wellness, lymphedema, alternative healing, resources and the role of the American Cancer Society. Each session will begin with a guest speaker, have time for questions, and end with an opportunity to connect with others around the challenges of cancer.
