Go Red For Women features keynote speaker Chris Freytag
NEW ULM, Minn. 01/15/2010--The Second Annual Go Red For Women in New Ulm will be held Thursday, Feb. 4 featuring keynote speaker Chris Freytag, a national health and fitness expert.
Go Red For Women is an initiative of the American Heart Association to raise awareness that heart disease is the number one killer among women – it’s also highly preventable through diet and exercise. Locally, Go Red For Women is sponsored by the Heart of New Ulm, New Ulm Medical Center Foundation and the Minneapolis Heart Institute Foundation.
The event features a heart-healthy meal, shopping at the “Red Boutique,” and a special presentation by Freytag. Attendees are encouraged to wear red.
Best known as the Fitness Expert/Columnist for Prevention Magazine, and for her line of wellness products at QVC, Freytag continues to motivate and educate her clients, viewers and readers. She is the fitness contributor for the NBC affiliate in Minneapolis, sits on the Board of Directors for the American Council on Exercise, authored three books; has over a dozen retail Fitness DVD's; is a regular speaker at corporate wellness events; teaches fitness classes and personal training; and has shared her tips and advice with the media for over 20 years. She is also the mother of three teenagers and resides in Minneapolis with her family.
Go Red For Women will be held at Turner Hall, 102 S. State Street, beginning with a reception at 5:30 p.m. Dinner and program will begin at 6 p.m. Tickets are $20. Tickets are required for the evening event and available for sale until February 1.
The public is also invited to a Go Red Workout with Freytag earlier the same day from 12:30 – 1:30 p.m. at Vogel Fieldhouse, 122 S. Garden St. All fitness levels are welcome. Tickets are $5. Wear workout attire.
