Allina's Mercy Hospital hosts I Can Cope workshop
COON RAPIDS, Minn. 04/22/2010--A free cancer workshop will be held Monday, May 24 from 2:30 to 4:30 p.m. at Mercy Hospital, 4050 Coon Rapids Blvd., in Coon Rapids.
"I Can Cope: Nutrition and Cancer" will focus on the basics of a healthy diet during treatment and the importance of maintaining a healthy weight, nutritious diet and physically-active lifestyle.
Heidi Ganzer, Registered Dietician, CSO, LD, of Minnesota Oncology, will offer suggestions for achieving these goals.
"Many patients have questions about what to eat when they are being treated for cancer," says Sandy Herrala, Cancer Support Services coordinator. "Heidi is a very qualified and well respected expert in the field specializing in nutrition and cancer."
"I Can Cope" is presented by the American Cancer Society and Mercy Hospital’s Cancer Program. Enrollment is open to anyone diagnosed with cancer. Call 763-236-4040 to register.
