Paul Kettler, MD, will be Unity Hospital's new Medical Affairs leader
MINNEAPOLIS 06/15/2010--Paul Kettler, MD, has accepted the position of vice president of Medical Affairs at Unity Hospital effective Sept. 1. Dr. Kettler is an internal medicine specialist and a hospitalist, a physician who specializes in caring for hospitalized patients, and has practiced at Unity since 1995.
"We have worked together for 15 years, and I value his judgment, honesty and demeanor," said John Stoltenberg, MD, Unity's interim hospital president. "What excites me most about Paul accepting this position is his commitment to Unity and the patients we serve. His never-ending attention to detail and the quality of his clinical skills make him a great addition to the administrative team at Unity and Allina."
Currently, Dr. Kettler is a hospitalist for Fairview Health System and board member and chief of staff of the Maple Grove Hospital.
Dr. Kettler has held many leadership positions at Unity, including chief of staff. He has chaired the Medicine Department and the Credentials and By-laws committees. He is also a former trustee and foundation board member.
Dr. Kettler is a former board member and president of the West Metro Medical Society (formerly Hennepin County Medical Society). He has served on the Hennepin Medical Foundation Board and has been a delegate to the Minnesota Medical Association.
He has twice been named a "Top Doctor" by Minneapolis/St. Paul magazine. He has also been a task force member for the Joint Commission, the national healthcare accreditation organization.
